What to Expect

First, THANKS for saying yes! We couldn't do this without YOU! If your 36-hour experience at your Discovery Weekend impacted your life, you can expect your teaming/serving experience to have an even greater impact. This teaming journey has the potential to really deepen your relationship with God. It also provides you with a great opportunity to walk with some other amazing men in the weeks ahead. Make the most of this time - it will fly by and before you know this will just be a great memory and hopefully a spiritual milestone for you. Take advantage of this time!   

Each week is designed to prepare you for the Discovery Weekend - in practical and spiritual ways. Whether you are a Table Leader, a Support Team member, or a Prayer Team member, we have created a weekly curriculum that has been designed to help your relationship with Jesus become stronger.  Be intentional about participating and take advantage of the opportunity to challenge yourself. The weeks will go by quickly and if you aren't intentional you can complete the  teaming and serve on the Discovery Weekend just as you are at this very minute. It's our desire that you grow spiritually and strengthen your relationship with Jesus. We hope that is your desire too!  

Please remember that your commitment begins on Thursday prior to the Discovery Weekend. The team will meet at the retreat center mid-afternoon to begin set up. Please go ahead and make the necessary arrangements with your work schedule.

Emergency Information

Please provide information regarding allergies along with contact information for someone we may contact In the event of an emergency during the course of the Weekend.

Your team fee is $125 which covers your lodging, food, and 2 t-shirts. A $25 deposit is required with your registration. Your balance will be automatically deducted two weeks prior to the Weekend.

Statement of Commitment

• Pray with/for my spouse daily.

• Read and study Scripture daily.

• Keep my spouse informed of all aspects of my personal journey through this Discovery process; in other words, talk to them!

• Walk in humility, wholeness, purity, and integrity.

• Submit to the leadership authority of this Team.

• Pray for the Team and all participants throughout this process.

• Purpose to fulfill Romans 12:1-2 by becoming a “living sacrifice” during this Discovery process; understanding that I am not here for “me”, but rather the greater good of God’s purpose as an instrument in His hands.

• Meet with the Team weekly as scheduled. If you miss more than 2 meetings you may be asked to step down from your position. Absence greatly impacts your preparation and the team bonding - there is just no way to recapture what is missed. Not only does it impact you – but your team as well.

• Be open, honest, and transparent in all of my dealings with your Team and leadership.

• Meet with and/or contact my prayer partner twice a week to pray and maintain accountability (once in person the other by phone).

• Deal with any/all issues and/or offenses that may arise during the course of our meetings; no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. I will not be an agent of division!

• Ask for help whenever or however I may need it from my Teammates.

• Support Team/Prayer Team Only: I will read and complete the Bible study used by the team.

TABLE LEADERS ONLY:

-Read The Ancient Paths, by Craig Hill. (Books will be distributed at first meeting)

-If assigned a story, I will submit my Story Worksheets on time and work with my Story Developer responding to them in a timely manner.

-After the Discovery weekend, I will continue to maintain contact with everyone assigned to me. I will call and or visit them, on a weekly basis, for a minimum period of four weeks. I understand that it is my responsibility to nurture and encourage them during this critical time.

MINISTRY - The staff members conducting Discovery Weekends (DW) are not operating in any capacity as licensed or certified counselors in any area of practice.

Any statements made by persons in an official or unofficial capacity on behalf of DW are not to be construed in any manner as counseling or rendering of professional advice.

Any opinion and/or points of view expressed by individuals operating in any capacity with a DW do not necessarily represent the official position of DW.

MEDIA RELEASE - Any video or photograph captured during the Discovery Weekend or shared with the Discovery Weekend home office or DW Facebook page, may be used later for promotional or fundraising purposes. Your registration gives Discovery Weekend permission to use these images.
